Dementia and Alzheimers
Caring for people with Dementia or Alzheimers can be very challenging and requires a lot of knowledge, empathy and soft skills. We understand how serious the condition is and how stressful it can be both for you and your loved one.
Our carers will offer support while trying to see things from the perspective of the person they look after. It is often about how the person feels at the moment and not about what they remember or not. Our main aim is to help the person to feel independent and maintain their self-esteem.
We put a lot of effort into training our carers on how to care and look after a person with dementia and Alzheimer’s. It is a lot different than simply speaking with the elderly person. We know losing independence can be very distressing therefore we will support your loved one in doing things for themselves rather than doing it for them.
